Hey all..I did a quick shoot of my little niece indoors using a D50 & 50mm 1.8 lens. There was light natural light from the windows but it was later noon so it wasn't much. Do you think these are good photos or not good enough? I am 36 weeks pregnant and as of the last hour noticed sharp, shooting pains that kind of shift...all above my belly button. No bleeding or water leaking. Anyone know what this is????It could just be a nerve that the baby is on. Usually contractions start in the lower part of your belly.I am not sure if those are called round ligament pains as well! However as long as your not bleeding or leaking fluid it should be ok. I get those pains too and they are frequently accompanied by braxton hicks ether before or after the weird sharp pains! Are the top models of digital cameras as good as the top SLR's when it comes to the quality of the outcome (the picture quality)? I see a lot of people having digital cameras here, but have alwys though that SLR's are better... :?Film SLR camera's have a greater latatude than digital slr's. I think the fuji pro 2 has more than other digital slr's, so some prefer them for wedding's. Also with better film slr's you can get more frames per second, wheras the digital one is limited by its buffer and writting speed. i have a quite noisy lens, when i use it on AF mode. the lens is a fixed 50mm, nikkor. to me, it has always been like this, since i got it second hand. now, does anyone have an idea about why is it noisy? and thus, how could i (in case i could) "silent" it? actually, it doesn't bother too much, but makes me feel my camera like an old crappy toy ...and it is a not-that-old wonderful toy!it has to do with the motor system of the lens, so I dont think there is anything you could do to quiet it that wouldn't effect you ability to use the lens (such as wrapping it in foam to dampen the noise). you have the 1.8?yes, it is the 1.8 what i had in mind was the possibility of doing something by opening it. maybe, i thought, some cleaning might do ...... - 2010-03-12

So I have this older pinter. It's a Lexmark, which I call disposable printers because they always have one for 25 bucks and ink is 50 bucks. But this one is a printer/scanner/copier/fax blah blah blah. And It's been dead for about 2 years. I found an ink refil kit today for like 9 bucks, I figured give it a try. Oh no no no no. Listen to all people have said. For starters you are drilling a vent whole bigger.... then you "break" the top off of the color cartridge and inject ink into a sponge, when the sponge is full you should see some ink at the top of it. OMG worst experience ever. So these likttle Nukote ink refills are not for an old printer. I mean it may be my sponges were to drieed out, or the ink in there had hardented, o...... - 2010-03-12

I'm getting a tumor removed and getting a big shot in my forehead. I'm scared of needles and doctors. What should I do to make sure I don't panic and stuff ? It's at 9 A.M. At the time of the surgery prep, take a deep breath, close your eyes and don't look at the needle. After that, you'll be numb and it's a breeze. well i have been stabbed a few times in the face by needles to remove a small skin cancer...and i hate needles too..but honestly it doesn't hurt..the needles are so fine and thin that you don't feel them...it hurts way more to pop a pimple...so it's just scary but it won't hurt...you can take some gpd deep breathes...and while you are getting it done...just count to ten......... - 2010-03-12

hey guys, i just purchased the 40D body and love it, except, i seem to be having some issues with indoor non-flash photography. was wondering if any of you with this body saw the same thing. i shot a wedding with it over the weekend. i'm not happy with the photos at all. underexposed and red hue. i shot with no flash, canon 70-200F2.8 IS at iso 400, F2.8, 1/30 on my 30D and it looks AWESOME! same EXACT settings on the 40D, tranferred the same lens to the body, white balanced just the same, and the photos do not look good at all. i'm not sure what's going on. i also purchased the canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM and thought there was something wrong with the lens until i put it on my 30D. photos look much nicer on the 30D. i shouldn't...... - 2010-03-12

I've never set the custom settings in my D80 before, always left them on auto. For those that use the optimize image, custom settings, how do you know what changes to make? I've been reading online and really it seems like personal preference to some. I'd like to know if you do customize and if so, any hints or tips you could share. The pilot light on my direct vent fireplace stays lit on my fireplace but when the electrical switch to ignite the fireplace is switched on everything turns off including the pilot light. It does this as it makes a click sound as if a breaker is tripped. I have checked the exterior vent to make sure it is not obstructed and it appears to be OK. Hello I'm running an XBMC SVN build from a few days ago, and I'm seeing some strange problems trying to play music off my DAAP share. I'm able to connect to my daap share and see my files. I'm also able to play my files from my daap share without issue. I can also scan my daap share into my library just fine. The problem comes when I look at my library after I scan my daap share. I'm able to play music from my library that was built from my daap share, but it seems that none of the genre information is coming through (when I go to 'genres', the only entry is 'Unknown', and that unknown link takes me to all of my artists). Hi all, I recently bought my first DSLR, a Canon Rebel XTi, and a Sigma APO DG 70-300 to go with it. I also got a couple of lens filters to protect the lenses. I can get a filter on the kit lens with no trouble, but the ones I have don't seem to fit the Sigma lens (even though I got the one that Amazon had listed for "better together"). What should I be using to protect my telephoto lense?I purchased the canon haze filter then fits on the kit lens, works perfectly fine for me.
