Best/easiest way to softmod "NOOB ALERT"

  • I got a mates Xbox he wants me to mod.

    I have a hard mod so unsure whats the best path to soft mod

    Ive been checking out Slayers and Auto Installer Deluxe.

    What would be the best way to mod and put a larger hard drive in.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • ebay or if you have a game exchange or similar is your best bet some of them are getting a bit difficult to find, especially mechassult. if you go for that one make sure you get the right version or it wont work. check out the wiki page for loading linux onto an xbox for more on that front.

    just follow the steps, i use xboxhdm to prepare the new bigger drive. just remember to relock your new drive before you put it in the xbox. nothing worse than putting it all back and getting an error when you switch it on. also be aware of the 137Gb max partition size on a softmodded box. not sure what the max drive size is for softmodded boxes. and i'm not sure if you can have partitions after G:. I 've only ever used 250Gb drives in softmodded boxes so never had a problem.
