I am runing fendora and for the life of me i can't fetch a 14 gig file
that is currently on the web.
I get file limit exceeded and it stops at 2 gigs.
I am wondering what the solution is .Your problem may be related to the file system that you want to
store your files onto.
If you use ext2 file system, the files cannot be larger than 2GB
If you use FAT32 file system, the files cannot be larger than 4GB
If you use ufs with default settings, the files cannot be larger than
32GB
etc.
HTHHere might be the answer to your problem:
http://www.linuxmafia.com/faq/VALinux-kb/2gb-filesize-limit.htmlHello Tback99k,
You don't mention which version of Fedora Core you are using (FC2?).
However, this is a known problem and is described at
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=123524
Scroll down and if you have the right version of Fedora Core, it may
be possible to download an RPM that has this fixed (assuming the
remote file server supports > 2 Gbyte fetches).
If you don't have the right version of Fedora Core, and need help
building form source, let me know so I can walk you through this.
Either way - please indicate your progress in a clarification so I can
follow up on this question.
